November1（Ichi-no-tori）- Shinjuku, Hanazono Shrine Tori no Ichi Festival

There are about 60 stalls selling decorative “kumade” bamboo rakes, and about 200 stalls inside and outside the shrine precincts selling food, drinks and other things. This Tori no Ichi Festival, which attracts 600,000 visitors Hanazono shrine every year is said to have began in the Meiji era. The lively voices of the stall vendors who sell the kumade for success in business is an indispensable tradition in the town as it heads into winter.

《酉の市》飾り熊手を商う露店が約60軒と境内の内外に約200軒の飲食を始めさまざまな露店が出店。毎年60万人が訪れるというこの花園神社の酉の市は、明治時代に始まったそうです。商売繁盛の熊手を売る露店商のにぎやかな声は、師走を迎える街に欠かせない風物詩。今年は三の酉まで開催されます。前夜祭は夕方頃から翌2時まで、本祭は正午から翌2時頃まで露店が開いています。境内内外に露店が280軒出店。
